Course Description: The purpose of this course is to develop a practical understanding of commonly used instrumentation and technologies currently available to Audiologists and Speech- Language Pathologists. The course will include instrumentation and technologies currently used in clinical, research and educational environments.

Course Objectives:

  • Participants will develop a professional understanding of basic electronics and Instrumentation for their respective fields.
  • Participants will be familiar with and able to utilize common computer applications, computer hardware, software, and assistive technologies.
  • Participants will be knowledgeable about current trends in educational technologies and how it can be integrated into their service delivery model.
  • Participants will be involved in simulations of common educational and therapeutic situations.
  • Participants will experience  and reflect on the effect of handicapping conditions on a client /therapist relationship
  • Participants will be familiar with Universal design and how adaptations and modifications are used in educational and therapeutic environments.
  • Participants will work in a collaborative manner to produce a professional presentation using multimedia technologies.

Classes will meet on Thursdays, 4:40 - 6:40, Marrilac Room 443.
